Here is an article that appeared in the Banjo Newsletter.

In November of 2002, Holger Hoetzel (Max) from California ordered a Custom Top Tension style banjo from me. It was ready for delivery near the end of March 2003. Max decided he wanted to come to my shop to pick it up and get to meet me. When he arrived at my shop, he asked if he could record our conversations and take some pictures because he thought it would be fun to write an article about his visit to the Nashville area. As it turned out, he submitted the article to Banjo Newsletter and they did this cover story about my banjo work for Bela Fleck and Scott Vestal.

This September 2003 Bluegrass Unlimited article was also written by Holger Hoetzel (Max) in July of 2003 on his second trip to the Nashville area. But this time it was more of an article about Bela Fleck's views and opinions on the Mahogany Rim banjo I built for him.
